Craving...food :) But it's too close to suppertime to eat much of anything, so I'm having a hot apple cider instead :)
Listening to...the crickets! They are LOUD and ABUNDANT!! We usually like to sleep with the windows open in summertime, but the crickets haven't allowed for it this year - way too loud. Also hearing the little children playing on the other side of the fence.
Making me sad...antidepressants, sleeping pills, etc, and what they have done to those I love.
Missing...my hubby, because I almost always miss him while he's at work and especially while I am sad, and our future baby whom I don't even know.
Thankful for...so much! Hot apple cider, that it still feels like summer even though it's Sept. 10, that I am no longer on antidepressants, for my wonderful hubby, that we are approved to adopt and really could get "the call" any minute :)

Looking forward to...Tuesday, April 16, which is Hubby's & my 8th anniversary. We're going to go out to eat. At the end of the month we are going away for a long weekend.
Thankful for...the melting snow. I can actually see grass in our backyard. Keep in mind this is the first time we've seen our lawn, since we moved here in the middle of winter.
Craving...the TastiTaters I have in the toaster oven, which I am planning on eating with fresh salsa and sour cream. Here's to hoping the first fresh salsa I've ever made turns out good!
Going to...tonight we are going to a dinner theatre that a couple relatives will be acting in. Not sure how I feel about a murder mystery being performed in a church, though. But the play & the acting is bound to be very entertaining.
Wishing...I knew how much of the homestudy is going to be interviews of us and how much of it is she actually going to be checking how child-proof our home is.
Surprised by...Just looked at my Lilypie ticker and realized it has been exactly one year since we applied for adoption! Of course there was a lot more leading up to that (see my timeline). I had hoped to be approved by this point, but our homestudy is in 8 days and I'm hopinghopinghoping that we'll be approved by Mother's Day. It would feel like a Mother's Day I could actually celebrate :)

Having a hard time believing...that our homestudy is so close to starting, and we are (hopefully) so close to being approved!
Thinking...I've caught myself thinking God might actually give us a baby. We might be entrusted to care for a real, live miniature human being. When these thoughts freak me out too much, I catch myself thinking But some people actually GROW humans INSIDE of them!! Very freaky, lol! You know you've been baby-less too long when you start thinking pregnancy itself is strange, haha!
Eating...just finished a homemade pepperoni, goat cheese, bacon, mushroom, green pepper pizza. Well, not the whole thing. I just ate half of it.
Thankful for...running into my friend Jaymi in the grocery store. Her & her husband were waiting parents with the same agency my husband & I are going through, and then she got pregnant unexpectedly! She's due in just over a month now. I don't know many other people in real life who can truly understand this journey (really only my mom-in-law and my sis-in-law; I honestly can't think of any peers, per se) but Jaymi can. It was soooooooo good to talk to her. Okay, yeah, usually I avoid baby bumps like the plague, haha, so that part wasn't the easiest, but I'm sincerely happy for her. It was really nice to talk to someone who thoroughly, genuinely, gets it.
Surprised by...how unstressed I am by the fact that we have 7 days until our homestudy starts and we still haven't completed everything that we need to. Also we've borrowed a number of tools and saws and things for the renos on our house, and Hubby's parents need most of them back by tomorrow. So we've had to put a hold on working on some adoption stuff so that Hubby can finish up some renos so that we can return the tools. One of the saws my father-in-law brought here in his pickup and we're supposed to somehow return it in our vehicle. Our new countertop got delivered today and we discovered that the lady in charge completely forgot to order our island countertop - OOPS. I'm surprised how unstressed I am by all this...maybe that should worry me, haha!
Making me happy...Our house is coming together very nicely. As soon as it gets finished up more (after the homestudy) I want to post before & after pictures for y'all to see!!

A number of bloggers have done or are regularly doing these "Currently" posts. The blog I first saw these posts on is a blog I follow Love, Matt and Kara. It is a blog about a couple who were originally planning to adopt (and had to go through a failed adoption) but are now parenting their baby girl that they gave birth to. Pretty much you make a list of the things currently going on in your life, under the optional headings Watching, Listening to, Thinking about, Loving, Reading, Making me happy, Trying to figure out, Looking forward to/Anticipating, Stressing about, Surprised by, Making me sad, Wishing, Working on, Planning, Laughing about, Eating, Feeling thankful for, Obsessing over, or whatever you want. I love lists, I love organization, and I love things being made simple for me! This is perfect for those times when it is time to update my blog but I simply have no idea what to write about! Thanks Kara and Danielle!
Watching: The Frozen Planet DVD's by BBC I got my hubby for his birthday. They are AH-MA-ZING! I sometimes have to leave the living room and go to the kitchen until my hubby tells me it's "safe" to come back, lol, because I can't handle seeing animals killing each other, lol, but that is just a small part of it. Penguins? Hilarious. The way killer whales work together? Insane. Ice crystals? In awe. It is amazing what God has done and it astounds me that people can even consider that He didn't create all this.
Working on: Our Dear Birthmother letter. Why do I procrastinate doing things that I really, really want done, like 3 months ago? There are a number of adoption-related things I/we can be working on, but this is the one I'm putting my focus into lately.
Hoping: That our house will get shown again this Saturday and that it will sell soon. It's so hard being patient when there's so much that hinges on our house selling.
Thankful for: That the lawyer for the people who bought our subdivided property next door has decided to smarten up and we should be getting the money for that in about a month (it's all allotted for already, with one huge chunk going towards adoption!).
Looking forward to: Christmas shopping!
Making me happy: My sister had her LAST radiation treatment today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
